Passing a music examination well requires more than just reading the notes accurately.

Pieces will include technical traps - for example tricky bowing patterns, rapid string crossings or shifting and intonation challenges that you may be unaware of - at first!

Here I whizz through some of the key technical & interpretative challenges in the ABRSM syllabus for violin from 2024 onwards to help students focus on what's needed to create an effective performance.
